In December 2020 four AUX buildings were recognized by the AIA San Fernando Valley chapter at their annual Design Awards:
Glorya Kaufman Performing Arts Center received a Citation award and was named People’s Choice winner during the virtual awards gala. “The jury liked the massing, the expression on the exterior, and the polycarbonate recyclable material. They also liked that the original worship space was preserved and that the interior space would provide a comforting environment.”
Villa Vaquero – Citation award: “The jury appreciated the multi-generational aspect of this home, the connection to nature, the intention to use locally sourced materials, and its elegant design.”
Aspect 5 Collection Homes – Citation award: “The jury appreciated this building’s bold gestures, calling it a strong, well-conceived project.”
The Art Room – Merit award: “The jury called this project elegant, energetic, superbly flexible, and excellent work.”
