Last night, our Chapter Three residence was honored by AIA San Fernando Valley with a Citation Award in the Single-Family Residential category and was also given the People’s Choice Award! This new hillside home, located near the Mulholland Scenic Parkway, is carefully placed within the site and Santa Monica Mountains. The design consists of overlapping volumes that slip out of plan with one another as they step back and up the hillside. Viewed from any angle, it respects and plays along with the natural surroundings. See the full project page, here.
