AUX’s 969 Mixed-Use has been named a winner of the 2026 Future House Awards, presented by Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. Future House award winners are recognized for their innovative approaches and new housing strategies around the world.
For 969, the challenge of building housing on a compact and complex urban site became an opportunity for AUX to rethink the experience of density. Offset floorplates, generous windows, balconies, and outdoor spaces create a more varied, human-scaled building, bringing natural light, views, and opportunities for connection to its residents. The project demonstrates how multifamily housing can combine efficiency with quality, inclusivity, and a meaningful connection to its Los Angeles setting.
